Bellator 153 This Weekend!

A lot of people are hyped for the return of one former UFC champion in Jon Jones, but another former UFC champion will return to the cage this weekend as well, albeit in a different promotion. Former UFC Lightweight champion Benson Henderson will fight for the Bellator Welterweight title in his debut. This fight takes place at Bellator 153 which happens tomorrow. The rest of the card is filled with decent names, but obviously the biggest, and most important, is the title fight. Will Henderson be effective and capture a belt or will the Bellator champion retain his belt.

Henderson of course has been shown to have some success at the higher weightless, but has not fought in it that long. He had the one fight against brandon Thatch, who is not that great of a fighter, who he choked out on short notice in the fourth round. Then he took on another Lightweight in Jorge Masvidal which he barely got by with a split decision. Now, he faces a legit Welterweight with a near undefeated record.

Andrey Koreshkov sits atop the Bellator Welterweight division with a ver impressive record of 18-1. His only loss came to Ben Askren for the title in a previous fight. Since that loss he has won another five straight fights which is capped off by his title win. His return to Bellator came with two knockout victories in one of the last tournaments ever. His best win came when he beat the former champion Diego Lima by decision. Now, he has a chance to put a big notch in his belt by beating a former UFC champion in his twentieth professional fight. Will he win? Only time will tell but it shall be an interesting challenge to watch.
