Bellator 158 Set with Rematch Galore

Kimbo Slice may have just been popped with a performance enhancing drug, but that will not stop Bellator with putting him on a car din another country. Given, the Texas Athletic Commission has only suspended the fighter for 90 days but that seems like too little considering he was cheating, but never the less, Bellator will take the gift they have been given a roll with it. Now, arguably one of their biggest stars will rematch with Jame Thompson.

Slice and Thompson first fought nearly eight years ago and Thompson looked well on his way to victory. Unfortunately, a busted cauliflower ear spelled the end of Thompson’s night and a lot of people cried fix in that fight. Slice went on to lose his next fight by being knocked out, joined TUF, went 1-1 in the UFC and has picked up two wins since rejoining the MMA scene in 2015. As bad as that sounds, Thompson has had a worse run since their first match.

Thompson went on a 1-5 run after the Kimbo loss, but he had a renaissance of sorts from 2011-2014. He won five straight fights over decent competition like the world’s strongest man, Bob Sapp, Bobby Lashley and even a Bellator fight. Since then he has lost two straight being knocked out in both fights,; one which came against a 46 year old TK.

This is not the only rematch not eh card as the UFC match of Josh Koscheck and Paul Daley will finally happen. Longtime Welterweight and former title contender Josh Koscheck saw the end of his UFC tenure when he lost five straight fights being finished in four of those five losses. He first faced off with Daley in 2010 in which was mostly  boring fight. it will be remembered as Daley took a cheap shot as Koscheck after the fight that spelled the end of his UFC tenure which was big considering he seemed to be a title contender himself. Koscheck was given his title sot after that and lost badly. This will be his first fight in nearly 18 months and Koscheck will be almost 39 at the time of the bout.

Daley has had ups and downs since the near six year since their first meeting. Daley has had nearly 20 fights since the original bout, but not all of them have been against top flight competition. In fact, his biggest fights in that span were against nick Diaz and future UFC star Tyron Woodley which he lost convincingly. Currently, he is riding a five fight win streak, three that come in Bellator and two that come by knockout.
