Three Fighters Cut from UFC

With all he gossip floating around about free agent, the easiest way to work for another promotion is of you to lose your fights and be cut. That is what happened for three different fighters today who have been given pink slips by the promotion.

Scott Jorgensen after fighting Dominick Cruz for his title in the last WEC title fight. He made an immediate impact winning two fights before running into future champion on threes Renan Barao who steamrolled the former contender over the course of three rounds. Since that fight, he has gone 2-7 only beating relative unknowns. He also had a four fight stint at 125 where he went 1-3. He returned to 135 for his last two fights and leaves the UFC on a fight where he lost via TKO due to injury. With a record of 15-12 it is unlikely he ever makes it back to the UFC.

Also cut was another former contender at 135 in George Roop. Room entered the Octagon off a huge head kick knockout win over the Korean Zombie Chan Sung Jung at Featherweight. Jung went on to fight for the title, but Roop lost to another title contender in Mark Hominick in his first official UFC fight. A 1-2 record at 145 after the Hominick fight had Roop going back to 135 where he stayed for the rest of his Octagon stint.  A 3-1 sprint was his best run which included a knockout of former WEC champion Brain Bowles. Unfortunately two straight losses and multiple injuries spelled the end of his tenure with the company.

Also cut from the UFC was Yui Chul Nam who won his debut by split decision but was cut after two straight split decision losses. With his regional appeal it is is not out of the question for him to come back to the promotion after a few wish on the regional circuit.
