UFC 187 Predictions: Main Event
Anthony Johnson vs. Daniel Cormier
This is a big fight but we have to remember Cormier still took this on short notice. He has to get this fight to the ground to win or press Johnson against the cage. The issue is that Johnson has too much power in his punches. He will stop Cormier in three.
UFC 187 Predictions: Co-Main Event
Chris Weidman vs. Vitor Belfort
Belfort is strong and explosive, but as long as Weidman can last the first two round he will win this fight. Look for Belfort to make this fight interesting, but for Weidman to finish strong in the fourth round with a TKO.
UFC 187 Predictions: Undercard
Donald Cerrone vs. John Makdessi
Cerrone was lined up for a number one contenders fight but even though his opponent dropped out, he still is going to put on a fight. Makdessi is a good striker but will be outclassed on his way to a decision loss.
Travis Browne vs. Andrei Arlovski
Arlovski had one good knockout against Bigfoot but he is still an over the hill fighter. It looks like Browne will get the next title shot as he put Arlovski down in the first round.
Joseph Benavidez vs. John Moraga
Moraga has lost two fights and that is when he is outpaced. Whether it be John Dodson or Demetrious Johnson they have outpaced him. Benavidez is the same type of fighter and will use his wrestling and BJJ to take a decision victory.
UFC 187 Predictions: Prelims
John Dodson vs. Zach Makovsky
It remains to be seen how much a long layoff and knee injury will hurt Dodson who says he can beat the current champion. Makovsky’s biggest tool in wrestling will not be effective against Dodson who will eventually catch the former Bellator champion on the way to a TKO victory in the second.
Dong Hyun Kim vs. Josh Burkman
Kim is a tough fighter and the same could be said of Burkman. This will be whether or not burkman can finish Kim or if Kim can grind burkman out. Burkman will be able to grind out the fight and pick up a close split decision victory.
