UFC Fight Night 71 Predictions: Main Event

Frank Mir vs. Todd Duffee

This is a hard fight to pick, because it is hard to know if Mir is truly back on track or if Bigfoot Silva’s chin is just gone. Duff on the other hand is one of the most oft hurt fighters in the Heavyweight division. The obvious choice would be for mir to take this fight down and submit him. Mir is smarter than he lets on and will finish this fight not he feet in the second round.

UFC Fight Night 71 Predictions: Co-Main Event

Tony Ferguson vs. Josh Thompson

Ferguson is well on his way to being a top contender with a record of 8-1 in the Octagon. Thompson meanwhile has only won one fight despite having two close losses. Thompson needs to use his speed in this fight moving in and out and staying out of Ferguson’s reach advantage. Unfortunately, Ferguson will put his game on Thompson keeping him on the outside and capturing a unanimous decision victory.

UFC Fight Night 71 Predictions:Undercard

Holly Holm vs. Marion Reneau

Hold may have not looked like a world beater in her debut, but that will change now that she is one fight into her UFC career. Look for her to look sharper and finish Reneau in the second round.

Scott Jorgensen vs. Manvel Gamburyan

Jorgensen has looked abysmal in almost all of his fights since the title challenge going 2-6 in his last eight fights. Plus, he was finished in four of those losses. Gmaburyan has not looked much better, but he did look very goodie his 135 debut. That will not help Jorgensen who moves up from 125 who will be finished by submission in the first round on his way out of the UFC.

Jessica Andrade vs. Sarah Moras

Moras has the potential to be one of the better fighters from her season on TUF. Moras’ game seems to rely mostly on the ground where it seems that Andrade might be weak considering that she is a blue belt and has lost a few fights while on the ground. Moras will take advantage of this pounding out Andrade in the third round for a TKO win.
