"Rampage" Jackson Is Getting Sued

    Thu, 2009-06-25 13:47 — chernobyl kid

Though former UFC champ Quinton Rampage Jackson was never charged with causing a pregnant woman to lose her unborn child after he struck her car in his harrowing run from the law last summer, hell now have to face a civil suit on the matter, according to TMZ.com. Holli Griggs claims that Jackson is responsible for the stillbirth of her baby after hitting her car while he attempted to evade police during his much-publicized hit-and-run episode.

An investigation by the Orange County District Attorneys office concluded that the womans miscarriage was unrelated to the incident, and Jackson later plead guilty to evading the police and reckless driving in exchange for avoiding jail time. Does this mean Jackson is going to continue to be distracted by his past exploits while also taking a hit to the pocketbook? Hard to say, but it might be difficult to find a jury that's sympathetic to pro athletes driving under the influence of "delirium." Dana White might have been convinced that Jackson wasn't to blame, but other people might feel differently after seeing the photos.

I talked with a DDA in LA about the Rampage case. He said that there is no law on the books regarding the death of an unborn child due to a miscarriage. He told me that if the lady and the child had both died then a person gets charged with two homicides but if the baby only dies they do not charge the person as it has to be proven the cause of death as the baby has not been yet. It was a little weird to me but the guy explained it really well and I can not.

Yes Rampage will be sued but the last I heard was that the female was probably going to lose the child even before the wreck and I am sure that the medical records will come into play. I guess we will have to wait to see the outcome of it all.
