Anyone have any bjj specific workouts aside from shadow rolling? Get a lot of alone time with the mat and am wondering what more I can do aside from strength and conditioning training.
I'm very new to bjj. I have about 2 weeks experience although I have 8 years experience in wrestling and have been working hard to break those bad wrestling habits. I spend 8 hours a day at the gym. I get plenty of conditioning and strength training however the part I'm not so pleased with is the amount of mat time I get. Only about 1 hour do I get a chance to roll with my instructor and peers and frankly am dissappointed. There aren't any other gyms within a reasonable distance and the time I do get is well spent. But I was wondering, I get a lot of alone time with that mat throughout the day. Are there any bjj specific excersises or drills to work alone aside from shadow rolling (which at my level is fairly awkward)? If anyone has a couple they'd be willing to share it'd be much appreciated.
