Phoenix Combat Academy (PCA) and Jay Pages Jiu-Jitsu/Ruffhouse Jiu-Jitsu had a very successful weekend of Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu! Friday brought us Rage in the Cage and the weekend brought us the last tournament AZSBJJF tournament of the year. To start things off, we had an awesome Friday with a first round arm bar in Rage in the Cage performed by PCA student and competitor Bashir Saber. The arm bar indirectly set the momentum for the rest of the weekend.
My first Tounament is done, the USOPEN BJJ over the past weekend. 19 years had passed since I last competed in anything like a tournament. As far as my performance, crapy would be the best term to use. Choked out in under 2 minutes is not what I was planning. It's not the loosing, loosing does not matter to me. In all the years I wrestled I posted as many losses (if not more) as I did victories and I have always said you learn more from your losses than you do from your victories.

10th Planet SF competing at the 10th annual Gracie Open at Kezar Pavilion in San Francisco. We took home Five medals in four Weight classes. Quentin Ludwig took First place, Matt Walsh got third after he bowed out of a quarterfinal match against Quentin. I (Kevin Gibbs) took second, and Adam Sachnoff took second in his division and at absolute, I couldn't find any videos of his matches though. Everyone fought hard and represented well. Thanks to all my teammates, and our coach Denny Prokopos.
